Devin Choules was born in the small farming town of Clifton, Idaho and moved to Utah to attend school at Utah State. While there he met his wife Nicole and after they were married they moved to St. George where he got a Masters in Accounting from Southern Utah University. He and his wife have been blessed with two kids: their son Jack (3) and a daughter, Ruby.
Being raised in a farming town of 200 people, where there are more cows than humans, he learned the value of helping others, hard work and long hours. Those characteristics were magnified by growing up in a family of 8 where every dollar mattered and for most people there wasn’t the option to ever lose a single dollar. In 2009, Devin found a passion for helping people with their finances. About a year after he started in financial planning he noticed that people were retiring with less money a month and owed more in taxes. This spurred him to go back to school where he got a masters in Accounting so he could help people live better in retirement by being aware of how they are saving for retirement.
His primary focus centers on:
1. Safety First – Principal protection comes above all else, developing a correct financial plan requires a strong foundation to build upon.
2. A reasonable rate of return – Understanding that chasing big returns can compromise your plan.
3. Simplicity – Life is hard enough without having to understand and speak “Financial-eez.”
